English I: Materials

After receiving a confirmation letter of your selection to participate, you will receive a package containing content for your Clipper course. Below is the software you will receive for English I which are needed for the course.

The Clipper Project will provide:

Microsoft Office

Please, do not order these items until you have received your letter of acceptance.

You will also be required to buy:

  1. a headset and microphone (must be tested to ensure it is working prior to the start of the semester)

    b. The Wall That Heals: Commemorative Edition (1998) (approx $10)
    Narrated: Louis Gossett Jr.
    Featuring: President George Bush, Jan Scruggs, and many others
    Available from Amazon.com and several other sources; also might be available at a public library or at a school library; and also might be available through Clipper
    [sometimes mis-labeled as 1988]

    c. Maya Lin - A Strong Clear Vision (1995) ($29.95)

The Deer Hunter will be used in the first week of the course, The Wall That Heals during the first three weeks, and Maya Lin about week seven.

Printer: All of the reading in the course will be from web documents, so regular access to a high-speed printer will be very helpful.
