Frequently
Asked Questions
Q.
How can I become eligible for a Clipper course?
A. If
you are a high school student and have been accepted early
decision to Lehigh University you are eligible to take a
Clipper course. You
will receive a packet in the mail in December 2003. If interested
fill out and return the proper forms.
Q.
What are the dates that the classes run?
A. The
target start date for Clipper courses is January, 2004.
The courses will wrap up mid-May.
Q.
What happens if you receive more applicants than spots available
for the spring courses?
A. If
we receive more applications than available spots, a random
lottery will determine the participants.
Q.
How
will I know if I've been accepted into a Clipper Course?
A.
Students
will be sent a letter of acceptance as well as a packet
of information pertaining to their course well before the
target start date.
Q.
Will I have to buy textbooks for the courses?
A. Once
selected for a Clipper course, students will receive information
as to where the books can be purchased and which books are
needed.
Q.
What is the process if I want to withdrawal from this course?
A. Like
an on-campus student, a Clipper student is able to withdraw
from a course at any point during the semester, up until
the last day of class. They are however, regulated by the
University's withdrawal policies. A student dropping a course
in the first 10 days will have no record on his or her transcript.
A student who drops a course after the tenth day of instruction
and before the end of the eleventh week of instruction will
receive a W for the course. A student who drops after the
eleventh week, will receive a WP or a WF at the discretion
of the professor. A WF is considered to be a failing grade.
Withdrawing
from a Clipper Course does not affect your relationship
with Lehigh University. Receiving a W or a WP does not affect
your GPA. In no way will those marks affect you when you
begin full-time at Lehigh in the fall.
